High Tech Dentistry

The last few years have been a time of remarkable change for practicing dentists. We have seen the advent of the computer based practice. With computers we handle appointment scheduling, insurance tracking, clinical charting, treatment planning, billing and appointment reminders (to mention just a few).

Some of the other High Tech items now available include Lasers that can prepare teeth for fillings (often without the need for shots or drills!), Digital X-Rays (which give immediate results and a greatly enlarged view to improve our ability to make a correct diagnosis), High-Speed Curing Lights (which allow us to restore teeth with tooth colored filling materials in much less time), and even Virtual Reality Glasses that allow patients to watch their favorite DVD movie while they get their dental work completed.
